Mixed Green Salad

A mixed green salad is a mixture of lettuces and green, anything fresh and available with a simple vinaigrette dressing an perhaps a garnish of radishes, scallions etc. Such a salad goes with most any meal. The dressing should complement the pallet of the meal, using perhaps sweeteners such as juice, wine, honey, jelly, or sugar; fresh chopped herbs such as chive, basil, garlic, mint; spices such as allspice, clove; seasonings or other additives such as garlic, hot peppers, cheese. The presentation can be spectacular and perk up any meal.
