Preserving The Harvest

Mint Julep
(You can't get more traditional than this. Be careful though; they will sneak up on you!)
4 fresh mint leaves
1 ounce simple syrup (heat water to almost boiling, add an equal amount of sugar, reduce heat and stir until sugar dissolves, cool and refrigerate.)
2 ounces of good bourbon
plenty of crushed ice.

Crush mint into ice, add syrup and bourbon, stir to combine.

Coffee and Baileys Irish Cream
(Good for cold and windy days and easy to make and carry.)
Simply add Baileys to hot coffee. For an extra treat, add chocolate sauce
