Strawberry Tart

Don't be intimidated by this seemingly long list of ingredients. This is easier than pie to make and impressive to serve.
Pastry crust:
1/2 stick butter, softened
2 tablespoon sugar
Dash salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg yoke
¾ cup flour
½ cup ground almonds

Beat sugar and butter until fluffy, add vanilla and egg; beat until smooth. Stir in flour and almonds. Chill 30 minutes. Press into 10-inch tart pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Allow to cool on a rack.
Filling:
1 tablespoon strawberry jam
1/3 cup flour
3 tablespoons sugar
½ stick butter
½ teaspoon almond extract
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 egg

Brush pastry with jam and combine remaining ingredients. Pour gently into baked shell and bake 20 minutes at 375 degrees.
Topping:
1 pint strawberries, sliced
Enough prime slices to cover top of tart

Slice enough berries to cover the top. Bring remaining strawberries to a boil, add ¾ cup sugar; and mix 4 tablespoon cornstarch in lemon juice and water; add cornstarch to berries and cook until thick. Cool filling and spread onto tart an hour before serving. Top with sliced berries.
