Golden Apple Galette
filling
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 vanilla bean
2 tablespoons orange zest
6 golden delicious apples, peeled and sliced
3 teaspoons honey

crust
1 cup flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 t salt
1/3 c walnut oil
5 tablespoons ice water

Filling: Melt butter; add sugar, stir to golden over medium heat (8 minutes); add seeds from vanilla bean, orange zest, cups peeled and chopped Golden Delicious apples, and honey; cook until thick, (40 minutes) Crust: Combine flour, whole wheat flour, salt, walnut oil, ice water. Stir oil into flour and salt ‘til crumbly, add water and form into ball; chill. Roll to 1/4 in thick , place on oiled baking sheet; spread filling leaving 1-1/2 inch border to fold over filling. Bake 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
