Brandied Fruit Compote
1 quart jar whole apricots, drained, juice reserved
1 quart jar sliced peaches in heavy syrup, drained, syrup reserved
1 quart jar sliced mangos, drained, juice reserved
1 cup dried cherries
1 cup sultanas
1 pint brandy
Put drained fruit in a gallon jar. Pour brandy
in and stir. Allow to sit two hours. Combine reserved juices and simmer
with a cinnamon stick, 4 whole allspice, 4 whole cloves, sultanas and
cherries. Cool and strain out spices. Add spiced juices and stir gently
to combine. Cover and refrigerate for days.
