1 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon lemon rind
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
Sifted powdered sugar

Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy.
Gradually add sugar; stir in milk and flavorings.
Gradually add flour, mixing after each addition.
Chill dough for 20 minutes.
Roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Using a 2 inch round cookie cutter, cut cookies close together.
Carefully remove excess dough from cookie sheet.
Using a drinking straw, randomly cut holes in dough, removing dough by slightly twisting straw.
Bake at 375 degrees for six to 7 minutes. Cool on a rack and store for up to a week in an air tight container.
