Extra Fine Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies with Nuts
Always remember to ask permission to use the kitchen, check the recipe with your parents before beginning and leave the kitchen clean when you finish. Check to see that all ingredients are available. Measure all ingredients before beginning. Pre-heat your oven.

Utensils:
Blender
1 large bowl
1 medium bowl
Measuring cups
Measuring spoons
Electric Mixer
Cookie Sheet
Rubber Spatula

Ingredients:
· 5 cups oatmeal
· 4 cups flour
· 2 teaspoons baking soda
· 2 teaspoons baking powder
· 1 teaspoon salt
· 2 cups butter
· 2 cups sugar
· 2 cups brown sugar
· 4 eggs
· 2 teaspoons vanilla
· 24 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
· 1 (8 oz.) Hershey Bar (grated)
· 3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)

Instructions:
In the large mixing bowl for electric mixer, cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, beating until fluffy.
Measure oatmeal and blend in a blender into a fine powder In a medium bowl combine oatmeal together with flour, salt, baking powder, and soda. Add to mixer in three batches, completely combining after each addition.
Add chocolate chips, Hershey Bar and nuts and thoroughly combine.
Roll dough into balls about 1 inch round and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Remove cookies from baking sheet and cool on a rack. Store when they are completely cool in a closed container. Makes 112 cookies.
