Ham and Cheese Strata
Make ahead and bake when
you get home.
Sliced wheat bread to cover bottom and sides of
3 quart baking dish
1/2 pound sharp cheese, grated
2 eggs, beaten
2-2/3 cups milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 cup cubed ham
Cover bottom and sides of casserole
with wheat bread.
Mix together cheese, beaten eggs, milk, butter, dry mustard, salt, and
pepper.
Cover and refrigerate overnight. Before baking, press ham into the custard.
Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour.
