Breadsticks
Using your favorite yeast bread recipe for dinner rolls or the French Bread recipe in any cookbook. After the first rising, pinch off a piece of dough half the size of a golf ball. Roll the dough between your palms and a dough board that has been sprinkled with onion seeds, caraway seeds or other flavorful seeds to form sticks as long as the baking sheet and the diameter of a pencil. Place the sticks on a greased baking sheet and secure the ends so that they don’t shorten as they rise. I use clothes pins to secure each end. Allow to rise to not quite double in bulk Remove clothes pins, bake in 400degree oven about 15 minutes. Cool on a rack and serve standing up in a tall pasta container or vase. These are delicious and dramatic on a buffet table.
